The project included electrical installations, plumbing works, flooring, decoration, and kitchenette installation – all completed by IDWe Ltd as the main M&E Contractor.
Scope of Works
Strip Out and Preparation
Our team began by stripping out all existing plumbing, flooring, false ceilings, lighting, shelving, and mirrors. Every redundant item was cleared and disposed of at a licensed recycling facility. This created a clean slate for the refurbishment.
Electrical Installations and Lighting
As part of our M&E contractor services, we isolated the existing supplies, traced wiring, and carried out first fix works. We installed socket outlets at every hair station, ensuring sufficient power access for the salon’s equipment.
A new MF plasterboard ceiling with metal supports was fitted, and we installed 10 new dimmable LED downlights. These lights offered energy efficiency and created a bright, welcoming atmosphere suitable for a high-end salon environment.
We also extended power and lighting into the kitchenette, delivering a practical and well-lit workspace for staff.
Plumbing and Wash Stations
Our plumbing team installed three new wash basins with thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) to guarantee safe and consistent water temperatures.
We connected new waste pipework to the existing soil stack in the kitchenette and installed a Sanvite waste pump for one hair wash station. These upgrades provided reliable plumbing performance, essential for a busy salon.
Flooring and Decoration
The salon floor was prepared with a latex screed over approximately 25m², ready for Kardean flooring. This durable, attractive surface was chosen for its ability to withstand heavy use while maintaining style.
All walls and ceilings were made good, then decorated with two coats of white emulsion. We decorated the salon, lobby, hallway, and kitchenette, delivering a consistent, professional finish throughout.
Kitchenette Installation
The staff kitchenette included a new worktop, sink, base unit, and wall unit that was supplied and installed by our team. We painted these units to match the décor and installed shelving. Integrated power and lighting ensured the space was functional and efficient.
Salon Fixtures and Final Completion
We prepared areas for three hair wash stations, mirrors, and shelving. While supplied separately, our installation works ensured they fitted seamlessly within the refurbished salon.
At completion, our team cleared the site and left the salon ready for immediate use.
